Caution ye with the weak ears. I used a "bad" word! 3-27-10

This is oil on the ground near one of the holding tanks where the us navy base was. Good riddance to bad rubbish, as they say. So real surprising, the US government pollutes everything it touches, and leaves corruption, sickness and pollution in it's wake. The navy bastards didn't even have the good sense to empty the oil tanks when they pulled out of here apparently, but left them to rust, and the oil went into the water. Thanks, US NAVY, ya fucking bastards!

This is a dolphin made of fire. All too rare. One of nature's mistakes.

Fish feed. I can't remember what this caption means, and I can't see the image as i write this. Oh well. "Fish Feed." Whatever that means. Oh yeah. This is the water, on a very calm day. The slick on the top is oil, released from the fish feeding below off one another. So now you know where the fish are. Go get 'em, Jackson. Kill, kill.

Photo of the inside of one of the abandoned oil drums, all rusted out. thanks again, Navy, ya fucking bastards!

This is Chili I made for the Rainbow bay potluck. I hadn't set my watch back, so I showed up 45 minutes late, when I thought I was early. Beans, tomato sauce, garlic, etc. and a bit o' Guinness, all served in Cash's dog bowl. I didn't tell anyone that, but they seemed to like it okay anyway.

This is a picture from down in the hole in the lot next to ours. I bet if you dug there in that hole, you'd find Lucayan or Arawak artifacts. I would bet money on that. It's pretty deep, yo. I found it when I was scrounging around in the bush looking for the crapper. So anyway, Don't step in it. Either one.

This guy's last name is actually Lucky. He wasn't feeling so lucky when I punched him in the face.

This was at the pig roast. You'll never guess what this is.

Another cursed sunrise. Man, they got a million of these things down here.

Richard and Rosalie. Both seriously cool people. She offered tolet me stay there free till our place is built. He bought me a sink today at a garage sale.

Oh, just one more thing I have to say. You have NO IDEA how difficult it is to plumb, and square 6 16foot posts at once. No idea, my friend. You think you do. YOu don't. It takes a delicate blend of precision, geometry, wisdom, the right tools, and some extreme violence.
It took us about a day to get these posts set right. Maybe one day the water will come and we'll be able to set 'em in concrete. Till then, we frame. And frame we will.
I'm making this thing absolutely bulletproof. The 6x6 posts are sitting in about 6 cubic feet of concrete each, dug into the solid rock, nails protruding all over for gription in the concrete, the holes are flared at the bottom, the joists are 2x8, and the sheathing runs from the walls right down onto the joists (I'm the only one doing that- which will make these walls incredibly strong and resistant to racking and twisting torsion loads- a stiff building is a strong building...), and I'm emptying an iron mine's worth of nails into this thing. It is NOT moving. Mark my words. Maybe shingles will blow off in a hurricane, but even those I'm tarring between EACH shingle and the one above it. 5/8 pressure treated ply sheathing on the walls, floors, and ceilings, and as I mentioned, several nails. It's taking longer to build than a building in Michigan, but it will outlive us. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I think it will.
The retaining wall posts are dug in the rock 4 feet each, 18 inches in diameter, and 2feet square above ground, filled with painted rebar, and rebar between 'em. If those ever so much as budge, I'll give you a dollar.
The footings in the side of the hill? a foot into the rock all around, including where the fill is out on the outer edge. All the way down, brotha. They too, will outlive us. On to some photroes.

Okay, so does anyone know how to get around this thing on this chunk of shit blog that makes it so you have to have a gmail account on here to view it? That's some BULLSHIT right there.
And Brian, you oughta post your stuff here. Your ideas are good ones, and important ones. I digest each idea attentively, and try to regurgitate the composite of all the best/most suitable ideas from the mishmash and the smishsmash. We don't discuss the splishsplash.
Holy crap. Let's start this ornery entery with a WHAT UP HOLY CRAP HIGH FIVE SHOUT OUT BIG DANG HOT DOG DIGGITY DOG to the RUTHIOLIO. Her tunes are in the top ten on the online list Broadjam, and "Pokey" (the JAM, in case you dint know, now ya know) is NUMBER FRICKIN ONE. That, ladies and gentleman (I know all but one of you are not gentlemen), is my wife. The raddest baddest rockinest rockin sockinest.
Let's have a moment of silent inward reverence to this lil powderkeg of a woman.
Shhh...
Down here, things be chill, man. Me and Zhivago finished our tenure of landscaping, and now me and Fat Max, as I call him, have been digging holes with a jackhammer, setting posts, and now building the temporary building. We have permission to build a guest house. 576 square feet, but I only have the loot to build half of it, so that'll HALFta do for now. Har.
Okay, enough of this chitter chatter jibberjabber spittersplatter pitter patter. I'm posting some pics, ya nig nogs.
I love you all like a silly madman.
