January plans/first wave

So, we put a deposit on a steel building. then were sent the contract to complete, and read some really screwy bullshit in there. They had the right to raise the price before delivery, and make us pay it, charge our card that they used for the deposit to pay that difference, deliver at their convenience, and call it a breach of contract if we didn't like that timing, etc. etc. So, I told 'em to get bent. But they never did charge the card. Then I went with a second company, and after giving them my info, they told me our card declined, and it turns out, that the first school of jackassery had, in the interim, charged our card. Bastards. So we're fighting that out.

We will take delivery in Governor's Harbour within 6 months. It will be 30 wide, by 35 long, with a 10x16 door on the oceanside end, as well as regular doors and windows. This will serve as the second floor, and possibly a temporary shelter until the first floor (cinder block and concrete) is built. That will be more like 50 x 35. I'm working with an architect there, who is also the building inspector. I've also applied for the water service, and am still asking the electric company to come and tell me what's needed for a temporary pole. If they don't answer, I'll be there in January, I think. I've been packing again, getting all of our shite organized. We're selling the condo to finance the thing, so we'll list that in January. Since we're doing that, that means I have to pick up the pace to get it ready and finish stuff I never finished before, as well as remediating (read: getting rid of) the mold that greeted us on our return. So, I got a storage unit for all our junk, and just finished moving our two trailers there, the boat and the storage trailer, so that I can get the first wave of stuff ready to go, so we can get something started before we have the loot to move it all. We'll start with the little black truck, a tent, some pruners, water jugs, gas cans, generator, canned food, toilet paper, a shovel, and some pencils and paper, and some tools to build a shed, and the materials to do it. It'll start with a shed, a la Shady Rest, and like all good things do.

So, we'll see. I'll be writing soon, but after January, sometime, I'll be writing while sleeping in the tent or the back of the truck, and sending the posts after I drive into town from the library.
