Today we hiked all over the island (Warderick Wells), and then we went for a snorkel. We have to swim out at the right time, and always watch the current here, because as the tide goes in and out, up and down plus or minus three feet, the current is really intense. Like, as fast as you can swim with fins on, you just barely stay in place, but can’t go past it. Anyway, so we choose our times. Today, the highlight was a reef where we saw lobsters that were around three feet long, by other people’s estimates. I would say that would include the antennas, but either way, that sucker was HUGE. There were a few of them, actually. Pesky nature preserves and their no-giant-lobster-eating rules. Shoot. This was the first day in a while I spent any time in the water, because I’ve been kind of terrified of rubbing salt in my wounds, since my skin has still been a mess, and I regularly scratch it all up still. My latest is that I might be allergic to milk, which I sorely hope is true. If I am, that could mean the end of all this scabby madness. Dare I dream? Never thought I’d be so excited to not drink milk. Anyway, I’m waiting and seeing. And for now, snorkeling. So I’m pretty happy. It’s not gone, but better the last few days. Anyhow. I’m gonna run and go post this. I’ve been online for four hours trying to get Skype to work so I could call the family for Christmas, or December 26th, and Laura’s birthday to no avail. But then, the nice people I just met next to me let me call there, and David too. Pretty nice people around here.
